Nintendo adopts Accessible Games Initiative tags
Nintendo has adopted the Accessible Games Initiative, supporting a shared system of accessibility tags designed to help players identify the features they need before choosing a game.
Key details include:
The initiative, led by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), introduces 25 standardised tags covering auditory, gameplay, input, and visual accessibility features.
Input tags identify options such as playing without button holds, rapid button presses, motion controls, or touch controls.
Gameplay tags cover features including adjustable difficulty levels, save-anytime functionality, stick inversion, and camera comfort.
Visual and text accessibility options include clear text, large text, colour alternatives, large and clear subtitles, and text-to-speech.
Audio tags identify support for mono, stereo, and surround sound, alongside multiple volume controls.
The system is voluntary, allowing companies to adopt the tags alongside their existing accessibility information.
The initiative aims to establish a shared language across the gaming industry, making accessibility features easier to recognise and helping more players discover games that suit their individual needs.

Xbox's X-Bite Alligator Series X Giveaway
Xbox has unveiled the Xbox Series X-Bite, a one-of-a-kind playable console designed inside a life-size alligator replica.
Revealed on November 3, the custom Xbox Series X features detailed scales, textured skin, illuminated green eyes and an Xbox Nexus logo emerging from its back.
The console houses a fully working Xbox Series X, although Microsoft recommends using it primarily as a display piece.
Valued at approximately $800, the X-Bite is not available for retail purchase and will instead be awarded through a random sweepstakes draw.
To enter, participants must follow Xbox on X, Instagram or TikTok, repost the official giveaway announcement with #XbiteSweepstakes, and keep their account public.
The competition is open to US residents, including Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico, aged 18 or older. No purchase is required.
Xbox marketing boss Josh Munsee described the unusual design as having "pure Miami vibes", with the company also teasing its upcoming activities in Florida this November.
The Xbox Series X-Bite is another example of Microsoft's creative approach to gaming hardware promotions, turning a standard console into a collectible display piece.
